With your help of time and donations, the future looks bright for this building when we succeed in saving it from demolition. We envision it being a multi use facility that can provide a venue for musical performances, dance recitals, music recitals and a wedding and reception venue for those looking for that unique experience. Also by partnering with downtown business we hope to help their businesses, who can supply tuxes, makeup, a beautician, and even flowers. Local area caterers will be able to provide the food.
Upon entering the new grand entrance, imagine a building opens up to its original 24 foot tall ceilings with the ornate curves surrounding the stage that will be restored to its original grandeur and while the seating won't be at its original 1000 seats, seating for 300, will allow a more intimate venue for musical performances, dance recitals, music recitals and other activities. Above the entrance there will be an upper deck at the rear of the theater that will both allow people to observe what is happening below and to look out through the new windows that have been hand crafted by local artisans that are replicated to be just like the original windows. There will be space big enough to allow art exhibits or vendors, there will also be an exhibit showing the history of the Palace Theater. On the main floor the will be meeting spaces for those who may want to conduct meetings here.
We plan on making the building as green as possible by implementing all LED lights, energy efficient heating and air systems. Even back when it was built there were concerns with heating and cooling, they used the massive 24" thick walls as a way to retain heat in the winter and cooling in the summer, using this along with modern geothermal technology will keep our energy footprint to a minimum.
